Charles Ray Perry

June 11, 1943 - May 4, 2019

Charles Ray “Charlie” Perry age 75 of Callaway passed away at his home on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
After retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1980, Charles moved to Franklin County as fast as he could, and received his degree in Philosophy from Ferrum College. He never lost his thirst for knowledge, or sharing his knowledge. Regardless of how much you were laughing through his great stories, you were always learning something. He loved Franklin County and farming and was very active at Phoebe Needles Center.
He was born on June 11, 1943 a son of the late Ralph Haywood and Mary McCall Perry and also preceded in death by his five brothers, Ralph, Ernest, Howard, Tom and Bob Perry.
He is survived by his beloved Lucy B. Ricardo, of the home; his children, Phillip Perry, Phyllis Auer (Whitney), Pam Perry, Robin Crist, David Ricardo (Valerie), Tom Ricardo and Becky Ricardo (Ted); grandchildren, Mickey, Kelly, Dennis, Virginia, Emma, Brittany, Joy, Aaron, Jasmine, Bruce and Emily; great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Lindsey and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Perry; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be announced at a later date.
