Gary Grover Howell

Gary Grover Howell age 70 of Botetourt, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Gary worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter and contractor in the Roanoke area. He built his own home, paying for it as he went. He was a very artistic and talented person. Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Barton Howell; his parents, Grover Hansford Howell and Hazel Cobler Howell; three step children, Donna, Mike and Greg Barton; and his brother, Douglas R. Cobler, Sr.

Surviving family who will remember him with love, include his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jimmy Earls of Salem, Va.; sister-in-law, Wanda Cobler of Roanoke, Va.; step-sons, John and Charles Barton; a nephew, Douglas R. Cobler, Jr.; nieces, Joyce Martin and husband, Kenny, Jerilynn Cobler, Ivey Stump and husband, Mike, Sherry Rickmon and husband, Marty and Carrie Thompson and husband, Chris.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
