Melvin Leon TInsley

Melvin Leon Tinsley, 60, of Collinsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at his residence. He was born June 6, 1960, in Henry County, to Rosie Tinsley Joyce and the late Thomas Wade. He enjoyed basketball, football, especially the Washington Redskins, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He attended school at Laurel Park High School, Class of 77. He was also baptized by the late Bishop Edward C. Martin. He worked at AC Furniture for Kenneth Robinson for five years, and later went to Frontier Spinning Company Mayodan, North Carolina for seven years before becoming disabled. He last attended the Full Gospel Church in Bassett, Virginia.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Wade.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughters, Tina Johns, Crystal Jordan, Starla Ross, and Deanna Galloway; sons, Robbie Galloway, Jeremy Burgess, and Marcus Burgess; sister, Shirley Tinsley; and brothers, Cliford Tinsley, Thomas Wade, Dennis Tinsley, and Patrick Wade; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 4, 2020, at 12 Noon at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service. There will be a floating visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2020, from 1:00 P. M. to 5:00 P. M., at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be private.
