Kaye Kramer

February 5, 1934 - September 18, 2020

Kaye M. Zinserling Kramer, 86, of South Fork Road, Appomattox, passed peacefully Friday, September 18, 2020. She was the wife of Keith L. Kramer.

Born in Williamsport, PA, February 5, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Marie Katherine John and Rudolph Zinserling. Kaye graduated from S.U.N.Y Brockport, NY, with additional graduate work in children’s literature and photography at S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook, NY. Kaye was a teacher for 30 years with the Middle Country School District, Centereach, NY. She also attended Long Island Bible Institute and the Billy Graham School of Prison Ministry, Wheaton College. For many years she was active with weekly prison ministry. Kaye was an active participant with the founding of Martha’s House- a halfway house for women being released from jail. Additionally she was active facilitating numerous national women’s Christian ministries.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Thomas and wife, Diane of Simpsonville, SC; two step-sons, Timothy E. Kramer and wife, Christine and Daniel J. Kramer; one sister-in-law, Earline Zinserling; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Reed; sister, Sandra Z. Payne; and her brother Ronald Zinserling.

A private funeral service will be held.

Burial will be held at New Hope Baptist Cemetery.
