Betty Jean Stemp

Betty Jean Slemp 81, of Martinsville, died Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her home.  She was born in Dickerson Co, Virginia the daughter of the late Vickers Allen Smith and the late Vergie Sykes Smith.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Quesenberry; son; Donald Dwayne Slemp and several sisters and one brother.                          
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rev. Jerry E. Slemp, Sr. of the home; one son; Jerry E. Slemp, Jr.; three daughters; Carol J. Slemp, Diana Sutphin and Rita Hurt; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.   And one brother Rev. Billy A. Smith
The visitation will be Wednesday, September 30 from 11-12 with funeral services to follow at   in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with Rev. Dallas Slemp officiating.   Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed while visiting at the funeral home.
