Gary H. Cooper

Gary H. Cooper, 84, of Concord, passed away on September 25, 2020. He was the husband of Patricia Cooper

Born in Franklin County, Va. he was a son of the late James Sterling and Virginia Cooper. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Cooper.

Gary resided in Florida while working as a foreman in the development of Disney and Epcot. He retired from AT&T after being employed 12 years, never missing a day at work. He was accepted into the IBEW many years ago and was a member of Local 606 electrical union traveling statewide; having friends everywhere he worked and traveled.

Gary and Patty settled in Virginia; building their own home, where he loved the land, his home and family. He enjoyed being able to sit on the front porch reading his Bible and enjoying the wildlife.

Gary loved his God, family, and work. He married Patricia (Patty) in 1955, and they have six children; Patsy Lynn and husband, Paul Borden of Moneta, Sherry Hall, Gary “Hoby” Cooper and wife, Dawn all of Concord, Robin Cooper of Bedford, Candi Cooper of Lynchburg and James Cooper and wife, Tonia of Roanoke; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother Donnie Cooper of Moneta.
