Donald J. "Don" Evans

Donald J. (Don) Evans, 86 of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his home. Don was born on October 3, 1934 in Narrows and was a son of the late Julian Leon Evans and Pauline Mullins Evans. Don was a graduate of Narrows High School, attended Bluefield College, VA Tech and UVA Banking School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from the First Virginia Bank in Rich Creek in 1994 as Branch Manager and Vice President. He also was a past President of the Narrows Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved and appreciated wildlife. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marshalene (Marsha) Pence Evans of Narrows, daughter, Vicki E. Blevins-Ogle (Tommy) of Narrows, Barry L. Evans of Pearisburg, four grandchildren Bradford Blevins of NY City, Matthew Blevins of New Orleans, LA, Alexis Evans Perdue (Michael) of Pearisburg, Alea Evans Millirons (Eli) of Pembroke, one great granddaughter, Ember Mae Perdue who Don called “The Little One” and one brother, Danny L. Evans of Lynchburg. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at 1pm at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with the Rev. Doug Armstrong officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Narrows.
