Kenneth Larry Roberts
Kenneth (Ken) Larry Roberts, of Pipestem, WV passed away peacefully with his son Rich by his side on Monday, November 9, 2020. Born June 16, 1943 in War, WV he was the son of the late Morris and Nellie Roberts. He served four years in the United States Air Force and then attended Bluefield State College where he graduated as an electrical engineer. Ken worked as a policeman in Bluefield for four years and then began a successful career with AEP while also working at A&R Associates for many years. Ken was a member of the TKE fraternity and numerous civic organizations. Ken enjoyed eating sweets, fishing, telling stories and spending time with his family. His proudest and greatest roll in life was being a Papaw to seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Nellie Roberts and his son Michael. Survivors include one son, Richard Roberts (Ashby) of Salem, VA; one daughter, Cathy East (Justin) of Dublin, VA; seven grandchildren, Jacob “Jake” Roberts (Katelyn), Jensen Roberts, Jameson Roberts, Jillian Roberts, Hope Christian (Dalton), Hunter Hatchett, Morgan Hatchett (Jeremy); six great grandchildren, Emerson Roberts, Freya Christian, Kandon Christian, Ryker Collins, Madi Collins, and Tucker Collins; brother, David Roberts of Arizona whom we owe special thanks to for the years of sacrifices he made to care for his brother;. and many special nieces and nephews whom he adored. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Friday, November 13, 2020 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton, WV with Pastor David Altizer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Friday. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful caregivers, Catherine, Cheryl, and Mitzi and to Good Samaritan Hospice of Roanoke.
