Elsie Willard Powell

Elsie W. Powell, age 87 of Glade Hill, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church.
She was born on December 29, 1932 a daughter of the late Rufus M. and Virter Bernard Willard and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira B. Powell; brothers, Walter Willard (Virginia), Jacob Willard (Fennie); sisters, Arnie West (Alvin), Dora Holland (Thomas), Pearl Bernard and Viola Stanley; brothers-in-law, Lynwood Robertson, Elton Wilson, Richard Smith and Silas Powell (Carrie); sisters-in-law, Vera Dent (Junior) and Dossie Kennett (Ferris);
Mrs. Powell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Dreama Powell; her grandson and his wife, Chris and Heather Powell; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Jacob and Isaiah Powell. She is also survived by her sisters, Zelda Robertson, Doris Smith and Eddie Wilson; brother-in-law Dennis Powell (Janice) and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including their neighbors.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their show of love and kindness.
Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 with Elder Mark Terry officiating.
