Buster Jackson Mullins, Sr.

Buster Jackson Mullins, Sr., 81, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020. He was born on December 20, 1938 in Oakvale West, Va. He was the son of the late Reverend Charles Wingo and Willie Smith Mullins. He was the youngest of 12 children the last surviving of his siblings. Buster was employed by Fred Whitaker Company for 31 years. He was in the United States Marine Corp and with honorable discharged on October 3, 1957. Buster was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 52 years Betty Jean Wall Mullins.

Surviving him are his son and daughter-in-law, Buster J. Mullins, Jr. and Janice Mullins; daughter, Barbara Mullins Prillaman; grandchildren, Christopher Prillaman (Violet) and Timothy Prillaman (Rachael) and Kelcie Mullins; very special sister-in-law, Agatha Wall of Narrows, Virginia.; very special friends, Kevin and Rachel Vogley; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Carilion Roanoke Memorial for all their care.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Legion Post 710 Apperson Drive, Salem, Virginia 24153.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke. A graveside service will be held 12 noon, Monday, December 14, 2020 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
