James Daniel York

James Daniel York, 71, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born January 11, 1949 in Galax, Virginia to the late Joseph James York and Loma Ellen Frasier York. He enjoyed the mountains, watching television and spending time with family and friends. He was a gentle, kind and humble man. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph York.

Mr. York is survived by his sister, Mary York (Mike Nester); brother, Harvey York (Kim), special friend Carolyn Cassell; niece, Melissa Tilley; and a host of family and friends.

There will be a private graveside service on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Mountain View Cemetery, Ridgeway, Virginia. A floating visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel from 4:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M.
