Roger Martin

Roger Lee Martin, 71, of Bassett, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home.  He was born in McDowell County, West Virginia on October 3, 1949 to the late Charlie Martin and the late Audrey Cox Martin.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Hairston.
He was a member of the Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory and had retired in 2001 from Stanley Furniture due to health issues. 
He is survived by his wife, Arlena Martin (Dee); daughter, Aaliyah Smith (LeeLee); son, Shawn D. Walker;  “special” daughter, Rozetta Jones; “special” son, Jeff Brown; caregiver and special great niece, DeAujiah Edmonds; four sisters, Joyce Ann Armstrong, Evie Lou Edmonds, Linda Williamson, Victoria Bernette; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his special companion, Job.
Friends may stop by the funeral home Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM to sign the register book and view Mr. Martin.  There will be a visitation Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from Noon to 1:00 PM in the Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory where the funeral will start at 1:00 PM with Dr. Todd Foster.  Burial will follow in the C and A Martin Family Cemetery.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
