Mildred Dillard Grogan Marshall

November 2, 1922 - January 4, 2021

Mildred Grogan Marshall, 98, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021, at home.
She was born November 2, 1922, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Harry Dillard Grogan and Mary Virginia Morris Grogan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Cheatham Marshall, Jr., a sister, Hazel G. Helms and a brother, Harry S. Grogan.

Mrs. Marshall was a graduate of Spencer Penn High School. She retired from Globman’s after 34 years of service. She was the buyer for the children’s department. She was a life-long member of the Horsepasture Christian Church where she was active in and President of Class #7. She was a choir member for more than 30 years; served on the church board and was active in numerous projects for the church. She was active in her community, loved her family, was a wonderful cook, loved to travel and loved flowers.

Mrs. Marshall is survived by a daughter, Linda Marshall Reynolds and son-in-law William Roscoe Reynolds of Ridgeway; a son, Henry Tillman Marshall and daughter in-law Barbara Brown Marshall of Summerfield, North Carolina; a sister, Colleen Grogan Dallas of Martinsville; four grandchildren, William Andrew Reynolds and wife Shannon Williams of Ridgeway, Amy Wingfield Reynolds-Hatfield and husband Tracy of Macon, Georgia; Stephanie Dillard Limmer and husband Dan, of Kennebunk, Maine, and Leia T. Lowery and husband James of Arundel, Maine; nine great-grandchildren, Caroline Lowery, Marshall Lowery,
Henry Lowery, Margo Limmer, Sarah Limmer, Saphron Hatfield, Ronan Hatfield, Reece Hatfield and William Robert Reynolds.
.A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2021, at Horsepasture Christian Church. There will be no visitation due to Covid-19.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for her caregivers, Jewell Pritchett, Carolene Ramos, Teresa Roberson, Linda Trent, and Beulah Watkins, who provided tender loving care for our mother for the past four years.
