Buddy Rodgers Adkins, Sr.

Buddy Rodgers Adkins, Sr., 73, of Martinsville, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home. He was born in Bassett, Virginia on April 11, 1947 to the late Charlie Adkins, Sr. and Elizabeth Haynes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Adkins, sisters, Linda Hall, Shirley Martin, and Polly Hancock.

Buddy served in Vietnam with the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Christal C. Adkins, three sons; Michael McGee, Ricky Stegall (Brenda), Buddy R. Adkins, Jr. “Little Buddy,” two daughters; Susan Case (Brad), and Penny Martin (William), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Charlie R. Adkins, Jr, and two sisters; Mary Ingram and Faye Linkous.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM, in Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating.

Due to the governor’s requirements for COVID-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
