William Lee "Billy" Hager

April 1, 1955 - January 7, 2021

William Lee Hager, 65, of Salem, passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Billy was born on April 1, 1955, in Bluefield, WV, to the late George and Naomi Hager. He graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1973 and was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for twenty-eight years. Billy achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, an honor of which he was truly proud. It was no secret to anyone that he was a devout Christian man who loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. You would often find him spending time with his grandsons who were no doubt his pride and joy. They loved their BawBaw very much and will miss him immensely.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty years, Brenda Hager; mother-in-law, Dot Saunders; son, Clinton Hager; daughters, Tessa (Ryan) Urgo, and Katie Williamson; sister, Linda (Alan) Corey; nephew, Keith (Courtney) Corey; niece, Susie Corey; as well as his cherished grandsons, Charlie, Jack, and Sam Urgo.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, VA. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park, immediately following. Rev. Jack Richards Jr. will be officiating.
