James "Jim" Terry Roberts

James (Jim) T. Roberts was born in Patrick County, VA and lived in Hardy,VA. Jim was a carpenter for most of his life. He enjoyed working with his hands as did his father and grandfather. Much of Jim's work can be seen around Smith Mountain Lake and Roanoke, VA . He loved his life at Smith Mountain Lake and NASCAR.
Jim never met a stranger and had a love for people and animals. He had been battling cancer for several years. Jim was a loving son, brother, father,,uncle and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
James (Jim) Terry Roberts was the son of the late Addie Mae Plaster DeRoin and the late Walter Ernest Roberts. His deceased grandparents, James and Charline Goard Plaster, were a very important part of his life. His step-mother is Betty M. Roberts of Roanoke, VA. Jim is also leaving behind a very good friend and companion, Linda Young of Hardy, VA.
Surviving are three sisters Amaryllis R Weatherington and husband Don of High Point, NC, Sharon R. Lindley of AZ, Tonja R. Cochran and husband Preston of Salem, VA.
Jim's children are Chad Hankenson and wife Amy of SC, Jennifer Roberts of NE, Jimmy Roberts of PA.and two grandchildren. His nephews and nieces are Ginger Altman of AZ, Sammy Altman of VA, Daniel and Grant Weatherington of NC, Kalei Cochran of VA, Teagan and Addie Weatherington of NC,
