William Lawrence Fretwell

William Lawrence Fretwell, 61, of Axton, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his home.  He was born on April 14, 1959 in Martinsville to Evelyn Deforest Price Fretwell and the late Henry Lawrence Fretwell.
He was an avid motorcycle rider and a member of the Red Knight Motorcycle Club.  William was a certified SCUBA diver in open water and cave diving.
In addition to his mother, William is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah D. Fretwell; brother, John Fretwell of Oak Level; sister, Gail Delello (Dave) of Bassett; his canine companions, Mia and Lola and a host of family and friends.
There will be a floating visitation, without the family present, where family and friends may stop by to sign the register from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Bassett Funeral Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Payton Gilbert Officiating.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
