James "Jay" Clark, Jr.

James “Jay” Clark, Jr., 41, of Bassett, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2021. He was born on May 30, 1979 in Martinsville to James David Clark, Sr. and Frances Darlene Napier Clark. Jay was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Cecil Clark and maternal grandparents, Herman Napier and Leona Napier.

In addition to his parents, Jay is survived by wife, Kimberly Hodges Clark; children, Jayden Clark, Jackson Clark and Kaitlyn Clark; sister, Jill Clark Drengacs and husband Jeremy; paternal grandmother, Ruth Clark; a host of family and friends.

There will be a floating visitation where family and friends may stop by to sign the register from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, where a funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm Pastor J. D. Harmon Officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Bassett.

Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing and number limitations will be observed.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Bassett Funeral Service, P.O. Box 207, Bassett, Virginia, 24055, to help with funeral expenses.
