Jesse Lee Mize, Sr.

Jesse Lee Mize, Sr. 69, of Bassett passed way on January 13, 2021.  He was born May 2, 1951 in Henry Co, Virginia. The son of the late James Elbert Mize and Brooksie Mize of Bassett.  He was also preceded in death by four brothers; William “Billy” Mize, Russell Mize, Leonard Mize and Johnny Mize.  Jesse was a member of New Coventant Fellowship Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed fishing with his nephew Sidney George.
 
Jesse is survived by his wife Sandra Griffin Mize, four children; Christine Strider (Jeff), Leslie Mize, Eric Mize and Jesse Lee Mize, Jr. “Tubby” (Sierra). Also surviving are grandchildren; Alex, Jacob, Samuel and Daniel and one great grandchild; Mabel.
 
A graveside service will be conducted Friday January 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Shady Rest Cemetery in Bassett with Pastor Neil Pressley officiating.
