Daniel Stuart Kidd, Sr.

Daniel Stuart Kidd, Sr., 84 of Roanoke passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. He was the son of the late James and Mamie Kidd of Giles County, VA. In additon to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Randall Kidd; brothers, Jerry, Terrell, Buford, Rudolph, Michael, and James Kidd; and sisters, Juanita Brown and Alice Kidd.

Mr. Kidd retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation as a gang leader. He was an active member of Taylor Lodge # 23 AF & AM and Kazim Shrine Temple.

Surviving are his son, Daniel S. (Jani) Kidd; grandchildren, Autumn (Nicholas) Green, and Elliott (Melissa) Kidd; great grandchildren, Cora, Isabel, Florence, Dorothy, and Madeleine Green; sister, Iris Vandergrift; brother, Frank (Carolyn) Kidd and Jerry (Margaret) Kidd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Dennis Kidd. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will begin receiving friends two hours prior to the service.
