James Nelson Anthony

James Nelson Anthony, 87, of Axton, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at home. He was born August 23, 1933 in Westfield, Pennsylvania, to the late Alfred William Anthony and Martha Elizabeth Hammonds Anthony.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Abbey Anthony; daughter, Cheryl Anthony; son, James Anthony; sister, Ardeth Anthony Snyder Judd; and brothers, William Anthony, David Anthony, and Richard Anthony.

Mr. Anthony was a direct descendant of a family that came to America on the Mayflower. He served in the United States Army and also the Airborne--during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, watching baseball, boxing, and playing cards.

Mr. Anthony is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Taber, Debra Anthony, and Sandra Anthony; sons, Russell, Thomas and Christopher Anthony; sister, Mary Van Pelt; brother, Alfred Anthony; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.
