Allen Clayborne Tinsley,Jr.

Deacon Allen Clayborne Tinsley, Jr., 72, of Axton, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Sovah Health - Martinsville. He was born February 15, 1948 in Eden, North Carolina, to the late Allen Clayborne Tinsley, Sr. and Sarah Wade Tinsley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Derrick L. Tinsley; and brother, Henry Tinsley.

He was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church, where he served on the deacon board, ECM Church choir, the crusaders, board of trustees and usher board. He was also the owner and operator of Tinsley’s Body Shop for 30 years. He enjoyed painting cars, fishing, spending time with family and friends and spoiling his grand babies.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 52 years, Laura K. Tinsley; two sons, Edrick Tinsley (Lakeisha) and Gregory L. Tinsley (Jackie); two sisters, Frances Tinsley and Maude Giles; three-grandchildren, Kayla Tinsley, Gregory Dillard, and DeVonte Tinsley Tinsley; two step-grandchildren, Jakira Redd and Gavin Scales; two great grandchildren, Kaiden Tinsley and Kainyn Craighead; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2021 at Wright Funeral Service with Elder Barry Dillard, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service. Burial will follow at St. Paul Holiness Church in Axton, Virginia.
