Myrtle Moore White
Myrtle Moore White, 78, of Horseshoe Road, Appomattox, died Friday, January 29, 2021, in Lynchburg General Hospital. For 60 years, she was the devoted wife of Clarence H. White.
Myrtle was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sharon L. White of Richmond and Kathy W. Watkins and husband, Robbie of Mechanicsville; two grandchildren, Kensley Watkins and fiancé, Ethan Brogdon and Landon Watkins; a sister, Jean M. LeGrand of Appomattox; a brother-law, Jack Wayne Burks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on August 7, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Katherine Martin Moore and Jesse Clyde Moore. She was also predeceased by a sister, Elsie M. Burks and brother-in-law, Walter “Boots” LeGrand.
Myrtle was office manager for C. H. White Construction. She was an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as a tithe and offering counter for the finance committee for many years. Myrtle also enjoyed cooking and gardening.
A funeral service with social distancing and required mask will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Norman Ramsey. A private interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
