Annie Lorene Wade Compton

Annie Lorene Wade Compton 85, of Bassett Virginia passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Lewis Gale Medical Center. She was born April 3, 1935, in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late Junior and Mattie Hodges Wade. She attended One Accord Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Truman, Della Stump, Betty Jean Brogan; brothers Roy Wade, Benny Wade, Alonza Wade, Everett Wade, and Claude Wade.

Mrs. Compton is survived by her husband Eliga “Pee Wee” Compton; daughters, Debbie Bullins, Linda Porter (Joe); sons Ray Rickmond, Danny Rickmond (Teresa), Mike Rickmond; sister Pauline Wade Wagner; brother, Curtis Wade; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 2:00 P. M., at Roselawn Burial Park, with Tony and Scott Porter officiating. A floating visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
