To My Children
To the past my mind does wander, to the days that used to be; when the future lay before me, though its path I could not see. Knowing not my destination or decisions I would make, to attain my life’s fulfillment, As I chose which roads to take.
Then I wonder, in my musings, what my life on earth has meant; What the legacy I leave when my days have all ben spent, Takes not long to know the answer; ‘Tis not difficult to find, For my children are the gift that I leave, with pride, behind.
Each is special to my heart; all, in their own way, unique. Happiness I wish for them as their destiny they seek. To my children, this I say- ‘Tis my hope that others see in myself, some part of you; and in you, the best of me.
