Leo "Peewee" Dell Dooley

Leo “Peewee” Dell Dooley, 91, of Bassett, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Sovah Health-Martinsville. He was born on December 4, 1929 in Franklin County to the late Nelson Dooley and the late Conie Thurman Dooley Walthall.  In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by a son, Marty Dooley and step-father, Morris Walthall, Sr.
Peewee honorably served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
Peewee is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Inez Adams Dooley; daughter, Freda Fallin; brother, Morris Walthall, Jr.; sister, Coren Bolden; granddaughter, Tonya Edwards; great-grandchildren, Hunter Edwards and Kayli Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may stop by the funeral home Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM to view and sign the register book without the family present.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Rick Randall officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
