Shavon Lamont Reid

Shavon Lamont Reid, 33, of Browns Summit, North Carolina was born on December 29, 1987, in Martinsville, Virginia, and departed this life on February 5, 2021. He was the son of Felita Karen Reid and George Henry Hairston. His second mother and father are Jennie and Daniel Spencer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobbie and Doris Reid, and Jennie Belle Davis.
He was a graduate of Martinsville High School class of 2006, and a graduate of People’s Choice Academy where he graduated as a Master Barber in August 2016. He was the owner and operator of Kulture Kutz. His talent was cutting hair. Mr. Reid attended Refuge Temple Ministries and Meadow Christian Church. “Von” was a family man and his kids were his world, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His smile would light up a room; he was the life of the party.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Reid is survived by his two sons and two daughters. Nykki S. Norman (Erika), Ny’Kelon A. Reid (Princetta), Nyla S. Reid (Carla), and Sage A. Reid (Shavona); two brothers, Brandon O. Reid and Demetrius L. Reid; two sisters, Kimora Titus (Jamar) and Destinee Spencer; grandfather, Larry Martin, and grandmother Lorease Spencer; girlfriend, Shavona Hairston; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral will be on Friday, February 12, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Alan Preston officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. A floating visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral service at Meadow Christian Church.
The service will be according to CDC guidelines with masks and social distancing required.
