Charles Edward Bane
CHARLES EDWARD BANE (Charlie) was born on January 22, 1965 and he completed his earthly journey on February 5, 2021. Charlie most enjoyed the solace of nature; the unconditional love of family and friends; and the satisfaction of solving complex problems. It is with an unmatched work ethic, a playful spirit, and deep feeling that he experienced life.
Along with his three siblings, Charlie was adopted by Robert S. and Carolyn B. Bane when he was four years old. His love for the outdoors was inspired by a childhood spent on the Bane family farm in Bland, Virginia. While his love for fishing, camping, and the outdoors began in Bland, he carried those hobbies throughout his life and found joy in sharing them with those he loved. For 8 of these years, he shared his outdoor adventures with his right-hand boy, Jack, a Labrador and PitBull mix whom he loved dearly.
Charlie found his greatest joy in life when his girls Erica and Ansley were born. Even when life took him and his former wife Lisa Valdemarca - whom he loved deeply - to California, Charlie spoke with his girls often and always kept them laughing.
Charlie spent his 24-year career with Hyatt Hotels as a Director of Engineering. He saw engineering challenges as feats to be conquered, always doing so creatively while keeping work light for himself and the people around him with his humor and famous pranks.
Charlie’s last months were spent in Bland, Virginia under the care of his loving family. During his time in the southeast, Charlie was able to spend quality time with his daughters. He also had the great joy of visiting his first grandson, Matthew Harrison Rodriguez.
Charlie is preceded in death by his biological Mother Judy Hite Jones and adoptive Father Robert S. Bane.
