Pauline Preston Wells

Pauline "Polly" Preston Wells, 88 of Bedford, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Polly was born November 22, 1932 in Bedford County, to the late Frednal Nichols Preston and John Edward Preston. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Lee Wells (Bobby), her brothers, Ed, Jack, Burton, and Charles Preston, and her sister Eleanor Vaughn.

As a member of Main Street Methodist Church she spent her life loving God and loving others. She retired from Rubatex Corporation to a life of gardening and loving her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Robert Wells II (Bobby) and wife, Cindy Wells of Bedford; grandchildren, Emilee and Trey Wells; her daughter, Denise Thompson (Dee) and husband, Dan Thompson of Warrenton; granddaughter, Sidney Bunce and husband, Jamie Bunce; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Gracie and Eric. One of her favorite sayings was, “Mama loves her babies!”

The family requests that in lieu of flowers you consider a donation to Main Street United Methodist Church outreach programs, 212 East Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523 to help those who are less fortunate in our community.

A family celebration of her life will be held in the future. She preached her funeral every day in the positive way she lived life and the love she shared with others.
