James Lewis Lambert

JAMES LEWIS LAMBERT, 78, of Rocky Gap, VA, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Rocky Gap, VA on May 15, 1942, the son of the late Earl Davidson & Lena Akers Lambert.
He loved to play his banjo and guitar. He was a veteran of the United State Air Force. He enjoyed playing golf. He had a great sense of humor. He loved his family and spending time with them.  He always wanted to protect them and was his daughter’s hero. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Hoosier Lambert; his daughters & son-in-law, Cheryl Y. Arnold and Jennifer E. & Chris Trout; his grandchildren, Aaron Arnold, James Trout, Alyssa Trout, Ali Sanchez and Christianna Sanchez; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Roger Lambert; his sisters & brother-in-law, Judy & “Buddy” Johnson and Janice Lambert; several aunts, nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 26, 2021 at Laurel Fork Baptist Church, Rocky Gap, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will be private with Pastor Chad Lambert officiating. He will be entombed at West End Cemetery & Mausoleum. Military rites will be provided by Bland American Legion Post # 20 and Bland VFW Post #7969.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in his honor to either Legacy Hospice, 1963 2nd St, Richlands, VA 24641, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals, stjude.org, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
