Joseph William Jefferson

Joseph William Jefferson, 72, of Bassett, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Martinsville on December 1, 1948 to the late Clinton Edward Jefferson and the late Annie Sue Brim Jefferson.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Stone.
William was a member Pleasant View Baptist Church. He loved to help the elderly in his community and was known for his sense of humor.
William is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Anna Palmer Jefferson; sons, Jerry Jefferson and wife, Donna of Rocky Mount and Dane Jefferson and wife, Sara Toering of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Bernadette Stowe and husband, Tony of Stuart; 6 grandchildren; a brother, Chester Jefferson of Elon, North Carolina; a sister, Becky Hale and husband, Flick of Collinsville; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.   
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Patrick Springs with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating.
Due to the governor’s requirements for COVID-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
For guests not wishing to attend the service inside the church, the service will be broadcasted on the parking lot using station 87.9 FM.  A guest register will be available outside the door.
