Thomas D. "Tommy" "Tater" Harris

Thomas D. “Tommy” “Tater” Harris, 62, of Appomattox, died March 2, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of JoAnn Warner Harris.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on December 22, 1958, he was a son of Marilyn H. Harris of Appomattox and the late Allen Lewis Harris, Sr. He was a member of Rocks Baptist Church. Tommy was last employed at Williams Pipeline and enjoyed logging, farming, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Tommy is survived by his wife, JoAnn Warner Harris; his mother, Marilyn H. Harris; a grandchild, Dylan Geesaman (Hannah Foster) of Appomattox, children, Kellie Geesaman (Steve) of Cullen and their children, Grace, Emily, and Ben, Travis Singer (Shawna) and Yvonne King (Colin) and their children, Coltin and Chaise all of Brooks, Alberta, Canada; a brother, Allan L. Harris, Jr. (Gail) and their children, Michelle and Jessica; sisters, Debbie H. Elliott (Linwood) and their children, Braxton (Megan), William (Kimberly), and Drew, and Renee H. Wingfield (Robert “Bobby”) and their daughters, Mary Beth (Kyle) and Katie, and Amy Heilig (Mark) and their children, Lauryn, Cadence, Morgan; numerous great nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Rocks Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Doug Lee.
