Pamela Lea Williams Braxton

May 21, 1954 - March 4, 2021

Pamela Lea Williams Braxton, 66, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, Thursday, March 4, 2021. She was born in Roanoke VA, May 21, 1954, to the late George Hammond ‘Ham’ Williams & Rebecca Elizabeth Salmon Williams. Also preceded was her beloved brother, Rev. George H. ‘Tex’ Williams, Jr.  She is survived by her son, Larry Braxton Jr, daughter Katie Braxton Torres (Ivan), daughter, Che’rie Braxton, and a host of family and friends.

She was a vibrant soul and her joy came from the Lord. She was a witness to the Gospel of Christ thru various talents. She was a founding member of the family gospel singing group Fishers of Men. She loved publishing sermons, Bible studies, brochures, song books, and poetry.
Owner of The Lighthouse Ministries and bookstore, she ministered to the community through Biblical resources, books, gifts, graphic design and print art. She was also a leader of a motivational health and wellness group.
Her fierce love of her family was a true mother’s love and she will be greatly missed.
She loved winning against her children when playing board and word games. She loved watching sports with her family, debating any topic under the sun, and spinning off a joke or two, with a quip or quote on top. Her mashed potatoes and gravy are legendary.
Pamela was an avid book collector. She not only read Scripture, she also had a passion for studying Scripture. Saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost, she was determined to stay true to her convictions and let her life speak of her faith. She enjoyed sharing her love of God and speaking of how He brought her through the many trials of life. Pamela was a resilient, steadfast, and incredibly strong woman, mother, daughter, sister, friend, leader, supporter, and most of all Christian.
The most important thing she would want you to know as you read this: Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior? John 3:16 KJV. And are you putting your trust in Him? Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV.
Pamela’s Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, March 9th at 2pm at Simpson Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will accept visitors Monday, March 8th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm also at Simpson Funeral Home.. In addition to flowers, the family is grateful for your contributions, blessings, and prayers.
