Patrick Henry "Swan" Mattox

Patrick Henry "Swan" Mattox, 91 of Lynch Station, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his residence. He was born on Saturday, May 25, 1929 in Roanoke, a son of the late Addie Foster Mattox and Annie Louise Fitzpatrick Mattox.

He was retired from Burlington Industries as a loom technician.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Maxine Gibbs Mattox; his sons, Jeffrey D. Mattox (Margie), Roger L. "Pete" Mattox; his daughters, Joanne Rowles, Bonnie M. Fielder (Timmy); his grandchildren, Daniel Rowles (Maggie), Brittany F. Coleman (Brad), Bethany L. Fielder (Bryan), Jordan Mattox (Corey); as well as his great-grandchildren, Reagan Jones, Easton Coleman, Addison Coleman, Jayden Gross, Megan Walker and Cody Walker and his brother, Gene Mattox (Maxine).

The family would like to thank Bedford Centra Hospice and especially Cappy & Sissy for their care and compassion.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 AM on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston and a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Kenneth Lafon and Rev. Ken Lester officiating. Interment will follow in Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
