James G. Williams

James G. Williams, of Lynchburg departed this life April 3, 2021.  Born December 6, 1925 in Cushing, Oklahoma, Jim was the first of five sons of his parents, Alice Miller Williams and James G. Williams, Sr.  Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Alice Heard Williams; brother Jan Williams of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; daughters, Daisy Warnalis (Mike) and Holly Williams; grandchildren, Challey Mielke (Steven), Tyler Warnalis, Leah Williams (Peter Mate), Anna Warnalis and Arrien Williams; great-granddaughters, Miranda, Lydia and Maeve; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by brothers Jean, Jack and Jerry Williams, and grandson, Adam Warnalis. Alice and Jim met at Oklahoma State University and were married following Jim’s tour of duty in the Army Air Force. After his graduation from the University of Oklahoma, the family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where Jim began a life-long career at Phillips Petroleum.  His work as a corporate attorney took him to 61 countries, including England, where he worked and resided with Alice for ten years, negotiating North Sea oil contracts. Jim was a man of many interests and lightened the lives of those around him with his sense of humor and pleasant demeanor.
