Reva Jane Welch, 58, of Salem, went home on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
She was born on August 19, 1962, daughter of the late Carlton L. and Edith M. Palmer Welch. She was wife to Richard Raupp.
Prior to retiring, Reva was employed with Rowe Furniture Manufacturing, where 30 years of faithful service was spent. She enjoyed the finer things in life, including tending to her house plants, however, her family was of most importance to her. Anyone that knew Reva knew of the deep love and commitment she had for her family. She was considered the “family backbone,” as she was always making sure everyone was taken care of. She was an exceedingly kind, caring, and generous person that would absolutely give a stranger off the street her last dime, if she knew they needed it. Above it all, Reva’s biggest accomplishment in life was being a Nana. Her grandbabies were her world!
In addition to her parents, Reva was preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Williams.
Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her children, Stephanie Oyler (Travis) and Jennifer Craft (Andy); grandchildren, Lacie Oyler, Devan Craft, Delilah Craft, and Hixon Oyler; sister, Sheila Nester (Leonard); brother, Kevin Welch and fiancé, Stephanie Hodge; grand-pups, Apollo, Gracie, and Hank; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 6 until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
Funeral services to honor Reva’s life will be conducted on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, in Roanoke.
