Inez Ferguson Carter

Inez F. Carter peacefully went to be with The Lord on April 16, 2021 at her home with her daughters by her side.  She was the wife of the late Edwin Herbert “Cubby” Carter.
Born in Appomattox, February 13, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Lula Phelps and Jesse Edward Ferguson.  Inez was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for over 30 years, and V.B.S. serving meals to the children.  She was also a member of Spout Spring Widow/Widower Group and TRIAD of Appomattox.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Carter of Raleigh, NC and Tammy Richardson and husband, Terry of Spout Spring; one brother, William C. Ferguson and wife, BeeBee of Lynchburg; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ferguson of Monroe and Dale Jones of Appomattox; two granddaughters who were her pride and joy, Lauren Marshall and husband, Tyler and Lindsey Richardson and fiancé, Drew Mann all of Appomattox; a special great-grandson, Miles Hunter Marshall; and a special niece, Cheryl Harvey and husband, Donald.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Ferguson; and two sisters, Maxine Sharp and JoAnn Beverly.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Spout Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Slaughter officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
