Betty Newman Puckett

Betty Newman Puckett, 86 of Thaxton, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Friday, September 14, 1934 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Ollie Newman and Clara Lindsey Newman.

She was a retired from Bedford Weaving Mill.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Puckett; her sons, Larry W. Harris & wife, Patsy, Michael Harris & wife, Debbie, Danny Harris; her daughters, Linda Davis & husband, David, Brenda Gardner, Angela Aitken; her brothers, Harold Newman, Jimmy Newman & wife, Joyce; her sister, Rose Bretz as well as five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:15 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.

A graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens, Roanoke with Rev. Wayne Murphy.
