Juanita "Tootsie" DeHart Morris

May 4, 1926 - April 24, 2021

Elizabeth Juanita "Tootsie" Dehart Morris, 94, of Martinsville, Va., peacefully entered into her eternal home on Saturday April 24, 2021. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend.

Juanita was born on May 4, 1926. She spent the majority of her adult life as a top-notch hairdresser after attending cosmetology school in the early '70s. Later, she was a member of the 'walkers' at the YMCA and a devoted caregiver for many women well into her eighties. She had a lifelong love for dancing and would be found on the dance floor every chance she got, whether it be for a graceful waltz or an energetic flat foot! She could do it all. Juanita had an incredible spirit and an unbreakable faith, one that delivered testimony her entire life. She was a longtime member of Valley Drive Baptist Church in Fieldale. Everyone who knew her loved her infectious laugh, her sense of humor, and her delicious cakes and pies!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Curtis William Morris; parents, Warren Talmadge Dehart and Bertha Edna Nowlin Dehart; and brother, Tet Dehart.

Juanita, affectionately known to close friends and family as Tootsie, is survived by her loving son, Tim Morris and wife, Brenda; grandsons, Matthew Morris, Michael Morris and wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Jackson Morris and Marley Morris; cousin and lifelong friend and companion Virginia Stewart; and numerous cousins, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Curtis William Morris; parents, Warren Talmadge Dehart and Bertha Edna Nowlin Dehart; and brother Tet Dehart.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Thursday April 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Drive Baptist Church in Fieldale, Va., with Pastor Bobby Rakes officiating. The family will welcome visitors prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Graveside service will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Martinsville, Va.
