George R. Brewster, Sr.

George R. Brewster, Sr. age 82 and formerly of Corning, New York, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Our Lady of the Valley Care Center.

George was born January 18, 1939 in Randolph, Massachusetts and lived most of his life in Corning, New York. He was the son of the late George W. Brewster and Margaret R. McAuliffe Brewster. George lived in the Roanoke Valley since February 2021.

He retired as the Director of Human Resources for Corning Glass; was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Corning, member of Knights of Columbus, avid Buffalo Bills fan, golfer, and enjoyed all sports, especially lacrosse and football. He was very active in his sons’ sports activities when they were growing up. George was a very generous man who had a good sense of humor and loved to travel.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Judith I. Doherty Brewster and is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: David and Karen Brewster of Daleville, George R. and Judith Brewster of Conway, New Hampshire, and Patrick Brewster of Corning, New York; grandchildren: Sara, Allison, Colin, Donovan, Drew, Abigail, and Dylan; his “grand-dog” Moose; and many loving friends.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at a future date at All Saints Church in Corning.
