Edith Ferguson

Edith Ferguson, of Bassett, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Sovah Health-Martinsville.  She was born in Patrick County on March 11, 1952, the daughter of the late Arnold Leaford Hiatt and the late Frances Isabell Bowman Hiatt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Gray Ferguson, Sr.; granddaughter, Angel Ferguson; siblings, Imojean Brummett, Woodrow Hiatt, Hayford Hiatt, Fordie Hiatt and Ronnie Hiatt.
Edith is survived by her children, Margaret Guilliams (Alex) of Sanville, Ronald Ferguson, Jr. of Ridgeway, Veda Asbury of Ripley, WV, George Spear (Tonya) of Stanleytown, Sherry McCallister (Larry) of Charlston, WV, Robert Ferguson, Sr. (Angela) of Thomasville, NC and Allie Ferguson of Martinsville; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Vada McGluthin, Patricia Mason and Sayford Hiatt; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.   A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM in the Ferguson/Wyatt Family Cemetery in Bassett with Preacher Donald Kendrick officiating.
