James Arthur Helms

James Arthur Helms, 51, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021, at his home. He was born December 27, 1969 in Monroe, North Carolina, to Frances Helms Johnson. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Helms.

He had been a managing partner at Long Horn Steak House. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, music, wrestling, acting, was a chef, and was a fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels football team.

James is survived by his wife, Michelle Helms; daughter, Brittany Panzenhagen (Dustin); son, Nicholas Helms; sister, Mary Morris (Rodney); brother, Edison Johnson (Christina); two nieces, two nephews; one great-niece, and 2 great-nephews.
