Charlie Raymond Adkins, Jr.

Charlie Raymond Adkins, Jr. 76, of Stuart formerly of Bassett, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Rocky Mount Health and Rehab Center.  He was born on April 2, 1945, the son of the late Charlie Raymond Adkins, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Haynes Adkins.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly Dawn Adkins; son – in – law Emmanuel “Terry” Lawson, brother Buddy Adkins, Sr., sisters Linda Marie Hall, Shirley Jane Martin and Perlina “Polly” Hancock.
He is survived by four daughters and son – in – law: Nancy Sue Spencer, Donna Gail Lawson, Amanda Adkins Chavez (Juan) and Robin Lynn Funk.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Jimmy Lee Spencer, Andres Javier Mota, Samantha Jazmin Mota, Daryl Lee Harmon, Jr, Austin Taylor Harmon, Dusty Lane Funk, Colton Gage Funk and Tegan Rheign Funk.  Charlie is also survived by two sisters Mary Frances Ingram and Faye Linkous.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m. in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 9 at 2: 00 p.m. in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with Pastor Rick Randall officiating.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the chapel.
