Paul Reynolds "Mr. Monopoly" Hevener

April 25, 1944 - July 12, 2021

Paul Reynolds Hevener, “Mr. Monopoly”, 77, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021.

He was born in Kline, WV, the son of the late Paul and Bessie Hevener and had been an area resident for nearly 30 years. Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force and was employed as a field service technician in the electronics industry for many years, retiring from Plastics One. He was an avid player and collector of Monopoly games and enjoyed nature walks with his dog, Harley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline Hevener and Yvonne Riley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Hevener; two sons, Michael Hevener and wife Jessica, and Todd Hevener and his wife Shannon; stepchildren, Philip Barnes, Tony Barnes and Michelle Karanja; two sisters, Anna Lee Crites and Nancy Wallace; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his favorite pet, Harley.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The Rev. Deacon Brian Hutcherson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
