Lloyd Elwood Gilley

Lloyd Elwood Gilley, 74, of Bassett, died Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Patrick County, Virginia on September 9, 1946 to the late Willis Andrew Gilley and the late Lillian Gilley.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sue Gilley; two brothers, James Gilley and Tommy Gilley and a sister, Mildred Gilley.
He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Shella Knepper (Steve); five step-grandchildren; nineteen step-great grandchildren; a brother, Allen Gilley; four sisters, Ida Helton, Lucille Sowers, Clovis Martin (Eugene), Delois Wagner (Leon).
DeLois Wagoner (Leon); caregiver and special niece, Teresa Gilley along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where the funeral will follow at 1:00 PM with Bishop Dwayne Pruitt officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
Elwood requested that memorial contributions be made to the ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in place of flowers.
