Eric Paul Newman

Eric Paul Newman, 59, of Bassett passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. He was born on January 6, 1962 in Martinsville, the son of the late Joseph Warren Newman and the late Imogene Nester Newman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Newman. 
Eric was a lifetime member of the Bassett Rescue Squad and attended Fairway Baptist Church.
Surviving is his loving wife, Shannon Newman; adopted daughter, Jessica Milby; one brother, Steve Newman and wife, Betty; sister – in – law, Emma Newman; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 
The visitation will be Sunday, August 8 from 2- 3 p.m. in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Tony Holder and Rev. Kirk Montgomery officiating.
Burial will be Monday, August 9 at 3:00 p.m. at the Holder family cemetery, 426 Tony Holder Rd, Low Gap N.C. 27024.
