Marion Horsley

Marion Phelps Horsley, 87, of Appomattox, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late George Abbitt Horsley.
Born in Appomattox, on June 5, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Della Lee Robertson and Carlyle Phelps. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher. Marion retired from the Appomattox and Amherst Garment Co.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Victoria “Vickie” B. Bryant and husband, Ronnie of Appomattox; eight grandchildren, Curtis J. Bryant, Jr. and wife, Brandy, Marsha B. England and husband, Curt, Melissa B. Shumaker and husband, Danny, Rhonda B. Scully and husband, Patrick, Ronnie D. Bryant, Jr. and wife, Taylor, Thomas L. “Tommy” Bryant and wife, Ashley, Jessica B. Kidd and husband, Roger and Vanessa B. Austin; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Clara “Dot” Phelps Ferguson, Cora Phelps Page and husband, Clyde all of Gladstone, and Joyce Phelps Taylor of Concord; two daughters-in-law, Mary Bryant and Jackie Hudson both of Lynchburg; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Phelps, Patricia “Pug” Phelps and Nancy Robertson and husband, Joe all of Gladstone; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Curtis J. “Curly” Bryant, Carl C. “Sandy” Bryant, Daryll L. “Darry” Bryant; and three brothers, Lyle Phelps, Richard Phelps, and Randall “Randy” Phelps.
A funeral service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Bryant and Pastor Jerry Childress. Burial will follow in the Phelps Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
