James C. Harris

James C. Harris, 83, of Martinsville, died, Sunday, August 8, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Leaksville, North Carolina on April 3, 1938 to the late Rube Harris and the late Edith Martin.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy O’Dell; step-mother, Edna Trent Harris; sister, Edna Bridges and a brother, Michael Harris.
He was the former owner and operator of Harris Exxon in Collinsville for 38 years.  He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jodene Stowe Harris; three children, Steve O’Dell, Bill O’Dell (Sonya) and Catina Phillips (Roger); nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a sister, Cathy Harris.
The family will be at the home of Catina Phillips, 577 Wingfield Orchard Road, Martinsville and will receive friends Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM in the Temple Baptist Church, 125 English Road, Collinsville where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Don Reynolds and Rev. Carson Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
