Ruth Wood Marino

Ruth Wood Marino, 75, of Roanoke, VA, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2021, after fighting a courageous battle with dementia. After graduating from Whitesville Central School, Ruth earned a Baccalaureate Degree in Music from Nyack College. She taught music at Whitesville Central School and later directed music at several churches, which was her true passion. Ruth enjoyed a career with Automatic Data Processing in New York City for 25 years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ernestine Wood of Whitesville, NY; brother-in-law, Blake Shores of Roanoke and formerly of Galax, VA.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice Ruth Marino; son, Paul Robert Marino of NYC; sisters, Elizabeth Shores of Roanoke, VA. and Cindy (James) Van Druff of Huntersville, NC.

The family will have services for Ruth at Gospel Chapel in Whitesville, New York. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
