Travis David LaPrad

Travis David LaPrad, 47, of Catawba, Virginia, saw the face of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

He was a “forever 49ers” fan and will always be remembered as a good man, loving son, great father, and perfect husband. The strength he had will endure in the hearts of many forever.

Preceding him in death was his stepfather, Gary Francisco; and uncle, Casey Jones.

His surviving family includes his loving wife and soulmate, Rechelle Welch-LaPrad; sons, Noah LaPrad and Zachary Welch; daughter, Ashton Hicks; grandchildren, Tristyn Walker, Rylee and Isabella Toler, and Aedan and Kenzie Hicks; mother, Victoria Francisco; father, E. David LaPrad Jr.; siblings, Wiley Francisco, Melanie Brizendine and husband, Mickey, and Angel Hedge and husband, Chuck; grandparents, Fredrick and Noline Jones; nieces and nephews, Olivia LaPrad, Cole Hedge, Grace Hedge, Jesse Brizendine, and Trevyn Francisco; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family expresses sincere appreciation to Good Samaritan Hospice for all of the loving care given to Travis.

A celebration of Travis’s life will take place on Monday, August 23, 2021, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lee Sarver officiating. Interment will be private.
